History & character
From the Bavarian Border to Upper Austria's Surroundings
Pasching has a long history that dates back to ancient times. Originally located in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria, the area has belonged to the Duchy of Austria since the 12th century and was assigned to the Principality of Austria above the Enns from 1490 onwards. During the Napoleonic Wars, Pasching was occupied multiple times. After World War I, the municipality became part of the federal state of Upper Austria. Between 1950 and 1965, Pasching experienced a population increase, mainly due to the settlement of displaced persons in the localities of Langholzfeld and Wagram. This development has led to a stable population of just over 6000, which has been maintained to this day. Currently, the municipality shows a growing trend through the expansion of the settlement area in Thurnharting, presenting itself as a quiet, agriculturally characterized place in the Linz surroundings.

Real building heights (OpenStreetMap footprints with heights from the BEV laser scan), sun hours and shadows from sun position and geometry. How much of it reaches you also depends on orientation and windows. Terrain is included, from the official elevation model out to 12 km: a mountain to the south takes the winter sun just as the house opposite does. Where the sun only grazes a ridge, the figure remains an approximation.
