What is living like on the river that splits the city into two banks?
The Salzach is Salzburg’s centre and promenade in one. The walk starts at the Müllner Steg by the Augustiner brewery, follows the quay into town, switches perspective on the old-town skyline at the Makartsteg and continues across the Mozartsteg out into Nonntal. Mountains to one side, townhouses to the other, the green river in between.
Getting there: 23, 181, 180 to Salzburg Mirabellgarten, 80 m to the start. Way back from Salzburg Petersbrunnstraße (5, 25), 87 m.
