History & character
From Roman Settlement to Modern Community
Weinburg, located in the Mostviertel region by the Pielach River, has a long history that dates back to the time of the Celts and Romans. The first documented mention comes from 1248, when a church already existed. The name of the community derives from the winemaking that has been practiced here for a long time. The Burg Waasen played a significant role in Weinburg's history, linked with various noble families. The construction of the road from Spratzern to Mainburg and the Pielachtalbahn contributed to the development of the community in the 19th century. The founding of the foil rolling mill by the Teich brothers in 1912 marked another economic milestone and shaped Weinburg's prosperity. Today, the community, with about 1394 inhabitants, is a quiet place surrounded by agricultural land and wooded areas. Its proximity to the city of St. Pölten makes Weinburg an attractive residential area in the outskirts.

How much of it reaches you also depends on orientation and windows. Terrain is included, from the official elevation model out to 12 km: a mountain to the south takes the winter sun just as the house opposite does. Where the sun only grazes a ridge, the figure remains an approximation.
