History & character
From Bronze Age to Market Town Böheimkirchen
Böheimkirchen is an ancient settlement area that developed around the Hochfeld, which is surrounded by the rivers Perschling and Michelbach. Already in the Bronze Age, the location was an important regional center. In the 9th century, a Carolingian old settlement was established here, and the name Böheimkirchen was mentioned around the year 985. The old town center developed through several phases, with a street village added in the 11th and 12th centuries. Over the centuries, Böheimkirchen experienced periods of economic prosperity, which were interrupted by crises such as the Turkish invasion and the Reformation. In the 16th century, the area was shaped by a regional directive to fortify the churchyards. Today, Böheimkirchen is a market town in the Mostviertel, covering an area of 45.55 square kilometers. It is located ten kilometers east of St. Pölten and is characterized by agricultural land and forests. The municipality consists of 27 localities and offers a quiet, rural environment with good access to the A1 motorway.

How much of it reaches you also depends on orientation and windows.
