History & character
From Handicraft to Modern Community
Unterradlberg is a locality and cadastral community of the city of St. Pölten in Lower Austria. The village lies on the left bank of the Traisen River and is the northernmost locality of St. Pölten. In the past, Unterradlberg was a center of craftsmanship and small industry. According to the address book of Austria, numerous tradespeople were established in 1938, including bakers, butchers, innkeepers, and merchants. Several crafts such as carpenters and tailors were also represented. Additionally, there was an electricity plant and factories for wood wool and yarn, which contributed to the economic foundation of the locality. Today, Unterradlberg is characterized by its quiet location and proximity to the city of St. Pölten, while also having a modern economic structure, highlighted by businesses such as the Egger Group's particle board factory and Egger Brewery.
