History & character
From the Neolithic to a Market Town
Neidling is a market town in the St. Pölten district, with a history dating back to the Neolithic period. Significant finds from the Bronze Age include a hanging urn. During the Roman occupation, an important road ran through the area. The first written mention dates back to 828, followed by the mention as Nuli(n)gen in 1180. The Goldegg estate, owned by the Enenkel family since 1589 and later by the Auersperg family, served as the center of the community until 1848. The modern municipality of Neidling was established in 1850 and has since experienced significant development. Between 1971 and 2006, the number of houses increased by two-thirds, indicating above-average growth. Today, Neidling is characterized by agricultural land and extensive forest areas, while the golf course at Schloss Goldegg contributes to the regional appeal.

How much of it reaches you also depends on orientation and windows. Terrain is included, from the official elevation model out to 12 km: a mountain to the south takes the winter sun just as the house opposite does. Where the sun only grazes a ridge, the figure remains an approximation.
