City hiking trail 6: Zugberg · Maurer Wald
Pine forest, meadows and the Wotruba Church in the wild south.
Through the Maurer Wald onto the Zugberg: black pines, dry meadows and, at the edge, the Wotruba Church, a concrete sculpture of a building above the city. Vienna’s wildest south, between Rodaun, Kalksburg and Mauer.
Getting there: 60, 60A, 255 to Wien Rodaun, 179 m to the trailhead. Loop trail: you finish where you started.

For Liesing explorers and anyone who likes long forest loops: out here the 23rd district is more Vienna Woods than city.
