History & character
Development of a Linz District
Neue Heimat is a district in Linz that was formed in 2014 from the former statistical districts of Neue Heimat and Wegscheid, as well as the eastern part of the statistical district of Schörgenhub. Geographically, it is located in the southern part of the city, bordered by Salzburger Straße to the northwest, the Mühlkreis Autobahn to the east, the municipality of Ansfelden to the south, and the city of Traun to the southwest. Situated in the cadastral community of Kleinmünchen, Neue Heimat has developed into a residential area that features the Parish Church of St. Francis and the Johannes Church as notable landmarks. Today, the district offers a variety of facilities, including a senior center and a community house, which support social life within the community.
