Along the Mur, from the Augarten to the Murinsel
How much waterside living does a city on a fast river offer?
The Mur is no still bathing lake but a fast alpine river, and that shapes its banks: promenades instead of beaches, footbridges instead of coves. The walk follows the water upstream from the Augarten, crosses at the glass Murinsel and ends at Lendplatz, where the once-rough quarter now mixes market and cafés.
Getting there: 4, 5, 3 to Graz Finanzamt, 283 m to the start. Way back from Graz Schloßbergbahn (5, 3, X30, X40, X41), 183 m.
