History & character
From Village to District of Innsbruck
Vill is a village as well as a district and locality of the municipality of Innsbruck. It was incorporated into Innsbruck in 1942. The village is located on the slope of a middle mountain terrace at the foot of the Patscherkofel, at an elevation of around 820 m. The Viller Bach flows together with the Ramsbach, which comes from Igls. Vill still maintains a village-like appearance with several farms. The district also includes Grillhof and Poltenhütte to the northeast of the village and Handlhof and Zenzenhof to the south by the Sill, below Igls. Vill offers a quiet residential area close to Innsbruck and the surrounding natural landscapes.
